I enjoy sewing, have been creating home decor items for many years and used to be a dressmaker. I don't tend to do this much now but really enjoy creating something from the fabulous fabrics I have collected.
I am a fabric addict...... there, I said it! If I see fabric that I like, I just have to have it.
I particularly like the massive choice that's now available because of the internet and I have purchased many types via Ebay and the internet. I love the printed panels you can buy.
A few favourite fabric designers are Robert Kauffman, Debbie Mumm, Leslie Beck, Warren Kimble, and Dianna Marcum.
One of my favourite shops for fabrics is Fenwicks in Leicester. Their haberdashery department is my idea of heaven. They also have sewing machines but I only look (not buy..... yet!!).
I like to buy unusual fabrics and braids and my sleep masks were created because I bought a scrap piece of black out blind. Here's a picture of a set I made:
I enjoy patchwork quilting and have made quite a few quilted projects over the years. When my girls were younger I made quite a few small quilts and pillows.

I may go back to making some more of them in the future but at the moment I am sticking to smaller projects that I can fit inbetween my other crafts. I have recently re-learnt how to crochet but I also do cross-stitch and a little bit of knitting. I also want to take up embroidery again too.
I am really enjoying the handmade crafts revival as for years I have fought the tide of discontent with people thinking that handmade means its of a lesser quality. More often, the quality is outstanding with time and dedication being at the forefront of the creater.
My latest "phase" is French Paris after a visit to France in 2010. I adore the French Renaissance period and fell in love with it all over again after visiting the Louvre. I bought some lovely fabric and made a few pillows to remind me of my visit. Here's one:
